Dates for 2019

Pre-Sessions Training: June 17 – June 26

Session One (10 to 13 year olds): June 29 – July 12
Changeover: July 12, 5 p.m. to July 14, 6 p.m. (Staff remain on site)

Session Two (14 to 18 year olds + LITs): July 15 – August 4.
Mid-Changeover: August 4, 5 p.m. to August 9, 6 p.m.

Session Three (10 to 18 year olds): August 10 – August 23.

Post Contract ends: August 25, 6 p.m.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What experience is required to work at Towhee?

The minimum requirement for consideration for any position is completion of two years of university or college in a related field of study, or equivalent work experience. All applicants must have experience working with children and a desire to learn how to support children/youth with special needs.

Q2. What certifications do I need?

All staff must have current First Aid certification; outtrippers must have a minimum of Bronze Cross (NLS is strongly preferable); waterfront staff must have current NLS certification.

Q3. What is the compensation?

All salaries range from $2,500 to $3,300 for the summer, depending on position.

Q4. What are the employment conditions at Towhee?

All staff received training and room and board free of charge. Staff are entitled to one day off per week (from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
