Why Us

Towhee accommodates children and youth with LDMH

Towhee adapts the therapeutic interventions of Child Development Institute’s LDMH Services in a safe, supportive and restorative environment, offering multiple opportunities for children and youth with learning disabilities and mental health issues (LDMH) to find success.

Most of our participants have complex profiles and are not able to attend traditional summer camp programs for the following reasons:

  • They experience mental health issues such as anxiety or depression;
  • Their learning disability impacts their social competence and/or executive functioning, and these issues may be compounded by ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder; and
  • They require highly-individualized, specialized supports.
