School Treatment Program

The Section 23 Day Treatment program is for children in Junior and Senior Kindergarten (offered at Charles G. Fraser and Secord Public School).  The program is offered in partnership with the Toronto District School Board.  Classroom and group treatment programs are offered for Junior and Senior Kindergarten children who are unable to manage in the regular educational system without the support and intervention of a small structured program.  The program provides a structured setting that helps children manage impulsivity and emotions, develop basic social and school-readiness skills, enhances self-esteem and awareness of self and others.

The program utilizes a multi-disciplinary team including a specialized education teacher, a child and community worker who are always in the classroom, plus a child and family clinician and other professional service providers.  Parents are included in the services by working with the child and family clinician and also working in cooperation with the classroom staff and utilizing classroom strategies.
